Website Terms of Use

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. About Dekora and these Terms

This website, dekora.com (the “Website”), is operated by Dekora Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Alberta, Canada, doing business as Dekora (“Dekora,” “we,” “us” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Website, including its content, enquiry forms and online features.

Please read these Terms before using the Website. By using the Website after being given reasonable notice of these Terms, or by expressly accepting them when prompted, you agree to them to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please stop using the Website. You may contact us directly with questions about our products or services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits or waives any consumer right, statutory warranty or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded, limited or waived. If these Terms conflict with such a protection, that protection prevails.

2. Our services and separate agreements

Dekora offers, or may introduce, services relating to homes and other properties, including home staging; furniture and décor rental and sale; furnishing and procurement; interior styling and design; renovation and project coordination; moving, delivery and installation; packing and unpacking; cleaning; and other related property and home services.

Availability varies by location, project, staffing, inventory and other circumstances. A service description on the Website does not mean that the service is available for every property or in every location.

These Terms do not, by themselves, engage Dekora to perform work or replace an agreement for a particular purchase or project. The scope of work, deliverables, pricing, payment schedule, rental period, cancellation rights, warranties and other transaction-specific terms will be set out in the applicable quotation, proposal, order terms, rental agreement, service agreement or other agreement accepted by you and Dekora (the “Service Agreement”).

If these Terms conflict with a Service Agreement, the Service Agreement controls for that transaction, subject always to mandatory applicable law. Transaction-specific terms must be provided before you agree to the transaction. Posting or updating these Terms does not amend an existing Service Agreement.

If another legal entity will contract with you for a particular service, that entity will be identified in the applicable agreement before you commit.

3. Eligibility, authority and accurate information

To enter a purchase or Service Agreement through the Website, you must have legal capacity to do so. If you act for a company, property owner or another person, you must have authority to bind that party.

Please provide accurate and current contact, property and project information. Do not submit an enquiry, upload property information, authorize access or place an order on someone else's behalf without appropriate permission. An agent's involvement does not, by itself, establish who is responsible for payment; the applicable agreement must identify the customer and payer.

If an account feature is available, keep your login details secure and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.

4. Enquiries, quotations, bookings and orders

Submitting a contact form, requesting a quotation or consultation, or suggesting a preferred date does not by itself reserve inventory, confirm a booking or authorize work to begin. We will explain any acceptance, deposit, signature or other requirements before you commit.

For online purchases and paid bookings, the applicable checkout or booking process will identify the terms of the transaction and how acceptance occurs. A message that merely acknowledges receipt of an enquiry or request is not a project confirmation unless it expressly says so.

Prices, availability and estimated timelines on the Website may change before a binding agreement is made. Currency, applicable taxes, delivery charges and other applicable fees will be identified in the relevant quotation or checkout before you agree to pay. We will not treat a Website update as authorization to change an agreed price or scope.

We may correct inaccurate Website information. If an error affects an order or project already accepted, we will contact you and address it under the applicable agreement and law. These Terms do not give us an unrestricted right to change an accepted price or cancel a binding transaction.

5. Service scope, changes and scheduling

Only the work, goods and deliverables included in the applicable Service Agreement are included in your project. Photographs, examples and general descriptions do not add items or services to an agreed scope.

Additional work, substitutions and changes to price or scope require approval as provided in the Service Agreement. Estimated schedules may depend on site readiness, access, client decisions, supplier availability, weather and other project conditions. The Service Agreement will address scheduling changes and their consequences, subject to applicable law.

Please tell us about relevant access restrictions, building or condominium requirements, parking or elevator arrangements, occupancy, pets, known hazards, fragile surfaces and special handling requirements before work is scheduled. Detailed site-access and safety responsibilities belong in the Service Agreement. Nothing on this page authorizes entry into a property without permission.

6. Furnishings, rentals, cancellations and returns

Product photographs and samples are illustrative. Screen settings, lighting, natural materials and manufacturing variations may affect appearance. Any description or specification expressly agreed for your purchase remains subject to the applicable agreement and your legal rights.

Whether an item is sold or rented, and whether it is new, previously used, a display item or custom ordered, will be identified in the transaction information. Rented items remain the property of Dekora or their identified owner. A rental does not transfer ownership or authorize use beyond the agreed rental terms.

Payment, deposits, delivery, installation, rental extensions, cancellations, rescheduling, returns, exchanges and refunds are governed by the terms disclosed and accepted for the particular transaction and by applicable law. These Website Terms do not establish a blanket “no refunds” policy or authorize automatic renewals, additional charges or forfeiture of deposits.

Nothing in a final-sale designation or other transaction term removes rights or remedies that applicable law makes mandatory.

7. Website information and project outcomes

Website articles, tips, portfolios, mood boards, renderings and other examples provide general information and inspiration. They are not property-specific assessments, construction documents or instructions to carry out regulated or hazardous work.

Architectural, engineering, structural, electrical, plumbing and other regulated work requires appropriately qualified professionals and any necessary approvals. A general design suggestion does not establish that a proposed change is safe, permitted or suitable for a particular property.

Staging, furnishing, styling and other services may improve presentation or functionality, but we do not guarantee a property's selling price, time on market, rental income, valuation, return on investment or another financial outcome. Examples and testimonials describe particular experiences and do not guarantee the same result for another client. This does not reduce an express commitment made in a Service Agreement or excuse a misleading representation.

8. Intellectual property and permitted use

Website content, including photographs, videos, written material, designs, graphics, branding and logos, is owned by Dekora or used with permission from its owners and is protected by intellectual-property laws.

You may view the Website and save or print reasonable portions to evaluate our services or manage your own dealings with us, provided you retain applicable ownership notices. You may share ordinary links to publicly available pages without implying endorsement or affiliation.

Unless authorized by the rights holder or permitted by law, you may not reproduce, republish, sell, commercially exploit or adapt our content; remove ownership notices; or use our name or branding in a misleading way. Permission to use photographs for a property listing or marketing campaign must be obtained separately.

Rights to project-specific plans, concepts, photographs and design deliverables are governed by the relevant Service Agreement or separate licence. Merely viewing or downloading Website material does not transfer ownership of it.

9. Materials you submit

You retain ownership of photographs, plans, project information and other material you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for us to receive and use that material for your request.

You give Dekora a limited, non-exclusive permission to copy, use and share the submitted material with personnel and service providers who reasonably need it to assess your enquiry, prepare a proposal or carry out an agreed service, subject to applicable privacy law and any confidentiality commitments. This permission does not authorize us to sell your material or publish private property photographs for marketing.

Public use of identifiable client information, testimonials or non-public project photographs requires a separate lawful basis and any necessary permissions. Please do not submit passwords, alarm codes, payment-card details or other sensitive security information through general enquiry forms. Ask us for an appropriate way to provide information that is necessary for your project.

10. Acceptable use

You must not use the Website to:

  • Commit fraud, impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority.
  • Infringe intellectual-property, privacy or other legal rights.
  • Submit unlawful, threatening or abusive material.
  • Introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the Website or its security.
  • Harvest personal information, send unsolicited messages through the Website, or extract content in a manner that infringes rights or materially disrupts the Website.

We may restrict access to Website features where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats or legal requirements. Restricting Website access does not, by itself, cancel an accepted order or remove our obligations under an existing agreement.

These Terms do not prohibit honest reviews, lawful complaints, reports to regulators or the exercise of legal rights.

11. Privacy and communications

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and how you can contact us about privacy. Any legally required consent must be obtained through an appropriate process; acceptance of these Terms is not blanket consent to every use or disclosure of personal information.

We may communicate with you to respond to your requests and administer agreed transactions. Promotional email or text communications will be sent only where permitted by applicable law. You can withdraw marketing consent using the unsubscribe method provided or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent communications necessary to administer an active transaction where legally permitted.

12. Third-party tools, links and service providers

The Website may use or link to payment processors, booking tools, social media, supplier websites and other third-party services. Their applicable terms and privacy notices may govern your use of their services. A link does not, by itself, mean that Dekora endorses everything on the linked website.

We do not control independent third-party websites. However, using a third-party platform or subcontractor does not remove responsibilities that Dekora has under applicable law or a Service Agreement. Where you will contract directly with a separate provider, that arrangement must be made clear before you agree.

13. Website availability and disclaimers

We take reasonable steps to maintain the Website, but do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components. Subject to mandatory legal protections and any express commitment we make, the Website and its general informational content are provided on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties relating solely to the operation and general informational content of the Website. This section does not exclude warranties or obligations applicable to goods or services you purchase, statements on which you are legally entitled to rely, or duties imposed by privacy or consumer-protection law.

14. Limits on Website-related liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Dekora will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including lost business opportunities, lost profits or business interruption, arising solely from access to, use of, or inability to access the Website.

This exclusion does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. It does not limit mandatory privacy or consumer rights.

This section is limited to Website use. It does not establish a liability limit for staging, furnishing, design, renovation, moving, cleaning, packing or other goods or services, including damage to a home, furniture or belongings. Responsibility for those matters is governed by the applicable Service Agreement and law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Website, our business or legal requirements. The current version will show its last-updated date. Changes apply prospectively and do not rewrite an existing agreement or remove rights relating to an earlier event.

Where applicable law requires notice, consent or a particular amendment process, we will follow it. Where fresh acceptance is required for an account feature or transaction, we will request it. Please review the version presented to you before entering a new transaction.

16. Governing law and disputes

Subject to mandatory applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Courts in Alberta have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms.

This provision does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the laws of another jurisdiction or prevent you from bringing a claim in a court or tribunal that applicable law allows you to use. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive participation in a class proceeding where available under law.

We welcome the opportunity to address concerns directly. Contacting us first is encouraged but is not a condition of exercising a legal right or meeting a legal deadline.

17. General provisions

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will not apply to the extent of that unenforceability, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply where legally permissible. A failure or delay to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

These Terms govern Website use alongside any additional terms expressly accepted for a particular Website feature. They do not supersede a Service Agreement, required pre-contract disclosure or representation that applicable law protects.
